It does hold a salvage title. The bike was salvaged from theft. The Ignition and all locks were replaced; it has very minor scratches here and there. Handlebars, right driver and passenger footpegs replaced. The carbon fiber Yoshimura exhaust does have some damage on it, fairly minor. mechanically sound. Rides excellent!
Note: Motorcycles can become salvageable for relatively minor damage, such as falling over at low speed and scratching the frame, forks, swingarm, rear sets, handlebars, gas tank, body panels, and small mounting tabs on the frame. Due to the cost of labor and lower prices of motorcycles they become salvaged easily. A car can not just tip over and become salvaged. Motorcycles that suffer significant damage are bought by dismantlers and parted out. Salvage means that insurance paid out the “cost” of the bike.
